Public Seminar Held for MA Thesis Proposal: Ms. Samia Al-Hosni

Department of Arabic Language, Faculty of Languages, at Sana’a University, convened a public seminar on Tuesday, Dhu al-Qadah 1, 1446 Hijri, corresponding to April 29, 2025, to present the MA thesis proposal of Ms. Samia Saleh Mohammed Al-Hosni. This seminar marks a partial fulfillment of the requirements for Master’s degree. The MA thesis proposal is titled: “Conjunctions and their Role in Cohesion: A Study in Light of Functional Syntax.”
During the presentation session, Ms. Al-Hosni provided a comprehensive overview of her study proposal, addressing the study title and problem. In addition, she presented the methodology, the main and sub-objectives of the research, and the materials and working methods which will be adopted to implement her scientific study.
Following an extensive discussion by the faculty members, several observations and recommendations were made to enhance the study proposal and ensure the achievement of the desired objectives. At the end of the session, it was agreed to amend the title of the research proposal to: “Conjunctions and their Impact on Cohesion: A Study in Media Language According to the Theory of Functional Syntax.” This amendment aligns with the study’s objectives and scientific vision. The proposal was officially approved with some guidance recommended for consideration during the study implementation.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Khaled Al-Absi, Head of the Department of Arabic Language, a number of faculty members in the Department, as well as a group of postgraduate students from the faculty, fostering a scholarly environment characterized by active engagement and academic enrichment.
