Faculty of Languages Hosts Workshop on Designing Questions Aligned with Learning Outcomes

Sana’a University, Sana’a – On Sunday, June 22, 2025, the Faculty of Languages at Sana’a University organized a training workshop titled “Designing Questions Aligned with Learning Outcomes.” The workshop saw the participation of 38 faculty members from various academic departments of the Faculty.
The training was led by Assoc. Prof. Abdulhameed Ashuja’a, who presented participants with key concepts and practical models related to the mechanisms of formulating educational questions and linking them to targeted learning outcomes. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the quality of the educational process and strengthen assessment practices.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and skills in designing effective assessment tools. These tools are crucial for helping students demonstrate the knowledge and skills they acquire after completing courses or academic programs, thereby fostering greater integration between teaching and assessment.
The workshop focused on three main pillars:
- Introducing learning outcomes and their connection to Assessment Alignment.
- Applying diverse measurement tools for accurate outcome Assessment.
- Utilizing rubrics in Assessment tool construction.
The workshop generated significant interaction among the participants, who expressed their benefit from the scientific content. They underscored the importance of such workshops in developing their pedagogical skills and improving the outcomes of the educational process.
