Mr. Abdulmalek Abdo Saleh Zaid was awarded a Master’s degree in the major of linguisticsfor his thesis titled “Transformational Phenomena in Surah An-Nisa,” which was submitted to Department of Arabic Language, Faculty of Languages- Sana’a University. The defense was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following members:

- Link Arabic Grammar (Nahw) with Transformational Theory and its applications within the Holy Qur’an.
- Enrich linguistic studies through the examination of transformational phenomena in Surah An-Nisa.
- The concept of Transformation is deeply rooted in Arabic Grammar (Nahw).
- Ellipsis is a transformational phenomenon, and the recovery of the omitted elements depends on both linguistic and rhetorical rules.
- The study demonstrated transformational phenomena in general structures and in both nominal and verbal sentences.
- The conditions and motivations for transformation are tied to preventing ambiguity, the presence of a textual clue indicating the omitted element, and the consideration of meaning.
