Arabic Language Department at Faculty of Languages Celebrates World Arabic Language Day

The Department of Arabic Language at the Faculty of Languages – Sana’a University organized a cultural event on Sunday, 21 December 2025, to mark World Arabic Language Day, under the auspices of the Faculty Dean and in cooperation with the University Student Forum, held under the slogan “Arabic is Our Identity.”
The event took place in Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh Hall, with the attendance of the Faculty Dean, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Nasser, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Abbas Mutahar, along with several department heads, faculty members, and students.
Dr. Khaled Al-Absi, Head of the Arabic Language Department, emphasized the importance of celebrating the Arabic language as a cornerstone of cultural and civilizational identity, calling for strengthening its presence across academic and intellectual fields.
The program featured poetry recitations and research papers, including a paper by Dr. Abdullah Al-Khalid on “Arabic Language and Soft Warfare,” a paper by Dr. Altaf Al-Fandi on “Illustrated Lexicons of Yemeni Heritage,” and a paper by Dr. Iman Musaed addressing the significance of ancient Yemeni language in the study of Classical Arabic. The event also included a cultural exhibition and an interactive dialogue on the status of the Arabic language.
