Sana’a University’s English Department Hosts Senior Graduation Project Defense Sessions

SANA’A, Yemen – On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Department of English at the Faculty of Languages, Sana’a University, held its annual senior graduation projects defense sessions. The event, attended by academic leaders and faculty members, marks a primary requirement for students completing their Bachelor of Arts in English.
The student presentations covered a broad spectrum of scholarly topics, including English Literature, Linguistics, Translation, and Cultural Studies. The defense committees noted the advanced academic quality of the research, highlighting the students’ exceptional analytical and investigative capabilities.
Dr. Abbas Abdulmalik Mutahar, Associate Professor and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, emphasized that these defenses are a cornerstone of the student academic journey. Mr. Mutahar stated that the Faculty is committed to fostering scientific research and enhancing the quality of our educational outcomes. The main goal is to prepare graduates with the knowledge and expertise necessary to meet the evolving demands of the community and the global labor market.
Dr. Abdulwadood Ahmed Annuzaili, Associate Professor and Chair of the English Department, remarked that the submitted research reflects the dedicated efforts of both students and faculty. He underscored the importance of selecting research topics that advance the field of English studies while honing students’ critical and analytical thinking skills.
The defense sessions were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Angela Yahya Mansour Abu Asba, the course instructor. Dr. Abu Asba played a pivotal role in providing academic guidance and ensuring that the research met rigorous scientific and methodological standards.
Participating students expressed their pride in reaching this academic milestone, voicing their appreciation for the mentorship provided by their professors. They credited the Faculty of Languages for fostering a stimulating academic environment that encouraged their intellectual growth.
