Faculties of Languages and Physical Education at Sana’a University Celebrate Al-Mawled Al-Nabawi, Honor Top Students

SANA’A, Yemen — The Faculties of Languages and Physical Education at Sana’a University held a joint ceremony today to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Mohammed (Al-Mawled Al-Nabawi), honor top-performing students for the 2025/2026 academic year, and welcome incoming freshmen. The event was organized in collaboration with the Student Forum and attended by University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, alongside the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Dr. Mohammed Al-Naser, and the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Dr. Abdulghani Motahar.
In his keynote address, Rector Al-Bukhaiti highlighted that commemorating Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi serves as an inspiration to emulate prophetic values in the pursuit of knowledge, devotion, and academic discipline. He emphasized that honoring high-achieving students reflects Sana’a University’s dedication to fostering academic excellence, noting that investing in student talent is vital to building the university’s future and bolstering the quality of its educational and research outcomes.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Naser, Dean of the Faculty of Languages, welcomed the attendees and stated that celebrating the Prophet’s birth reinforces faith and moral values among students. He noted that honoring the top students recognizes their academic dedication and motivates them to maintain high standards, while also integrating incoming students into the campus community. He reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to offering an environment conducive to creativity and academic distinction.
Similarly, Dr. Abdulghani Motahar, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, remarked that the occasion provides an educational milestone for instilling ethical principles into university life. He emphasized that recognizing top achievers cultivates a culture of excellence and healthy competition, enhancing overall academic performance and holistic student development.
Held at the Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh Hall in the Faculty of Languages, the event featured spiritual chanting performances reflecting the celebratory atmosphere of the occasion, as well as a poetry recital by poet Ahmed Al-Junaid highlighting aspects of the Prophet’s biography. The event was attended by vice deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large gathering of students.
Additionally, Mr. Osama Al-Muhatwari delivered remarks on the historical and spiritual significance of Al-Mawled Al-Nabawi, drawing on key milestones from the Prophet’s life. Representing the Student Forum, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shahwani affirmed the Forum’s commitment to supporting student affairs and co-curricular programs that enrich campus life.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Rector Al-Bukhaiti, accompanied by the deans of both faculties, presented certificates of appreciation and honorary plaques to the top-ranking students.
