Ph.D. Proposal Seminar Held for Mr. Abdulhameed Saleh Qasem

Faculty of Sharia and Law at Sana’a University hosted a seminar to discuss the Ph.D. dissertation proposal submitted by Mr. Abdulhameed Saleh Qasem Aawaj Sabr. The proposed study is titled: “The Legal Framework of International CIF Contracts under Incoterms 2020: A Comparative Study of Yemeni and Egyptian Laws.”
The study is supervised by Prof. Hamoud Mohammed Shamsan. The examination and defense panel consisted of:

• Prof. Hamoud Mohammed Shamsan
• Dr. Awad Abdulhafeed Ali Jazem
The study explores the legal framework of the international CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) condition, analyzing its provisions under Incoterms 2020. The comparative study between Yemeni and Egyptian legislation aims to identify similarities, differences, and the extent to which both legal systems keep pace with modern developments in international trade.
Following detailed feedback and academic discussion from the committee members, the panel officially approved the research plan. The committee commended the researcher’s efforts and emphasized the study’s practical and academic significance in light of rapidly evolving international trade transactions. The seminar was attended by faculty members, graduate students, and legal professionals.
