This morning, the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education inaugurated the institutional accreditation of higher education institutions, which began with a field visit to the College of Science at Sana’a University.
At the beginning of the visit, a small meeting was held in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council, Dr. Muhammad Dhaifullah, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, the Vice Presidents of Sana’a University, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Muta’, Dr. Muhammad Shukri, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, and Dr. Zaid Al-Warith, Vice President of the University for Centers Affairs and Dean of the Development and Assurance Center. Quality at the university, Dr. Hoda Al-Emad, and the head of the external auditors team, Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Shujaa and Dr. Sania Al-Qarmouty and A. D. Munif Al-Dhabhani and A. Dr. Amin Al-Asbahi, as well as the Council’s team of experts, Prof. Dr. Fadl Al-Wasabi, Dr. Hoda Al-Sanhani, the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Qasila, Dr. Elham Shukri, Deputy Dean for Quality Affairs, and the heads of departments at the College.
In the meeting, the Secretary-General explained that the Council is entering a new phase in carrying out its tasks, as this visit is considered the first in the history of higher education, in which the evidence and evidence for the College of Sciences, which has applied for institutional accreditation, will be verified, as the College of Sciences is considered the first college established at Sana’a University. .
Considering that this step is a national service undertaken by the Council after completing the preparation of institutional standards, reviewing them and delivering them to educational institutions, as well as the university’s delivery of self-evaluation files to the colleges at the beginning of the month and the formation of a team of experts to review, analyze, examine and submit the first report, in light of which the date of the visit was set to match the evidence.
The Secretary-General also confirmed that the Council will, in the coming days, carry out field visits to the rest of the colleges
While Prof. Omar Al-Shujaa reviewed the visit plan, which will last for four days, during which many meetings, interviews, and visits to the facilities, equipment, and contents of the college will be conducted according to standards and indicators.
While the team visited the college and held many meetings with representatives of academic standards, as well as visiting some of the college’s laboratories and facilities, the team will complete its tasks tomorrow.
