The Establishment of the College:

The college was established in the academic year 1972/1973, and the study there is based on the academic level system containing two semesters (the first semester; the second semester) and the duration of study is four academic years. The college has three educational systems:

  • The general system.

  • The parallel system.

  • The special expenditure system for old students.

The Specializations and Departments Taught in the College:

Department of Chemistry. Department of Life Sciences.      It contains the following specializations: Microbiology. Biology. Plant – Chemistry. Department of Physics. Department of Mathematics      It contains the following specializations: Pure Mathematics. Applied Mathematics.

The Coordination, Admission, and Registration System:

The university council annually approves the coordination and admission policy based on the recommendations of the college councils and the student affairs council and is adopted by the Supreme Council of Yemeni Universities, specifying the conditions and rules of admission, the required documents for admission, and the dates of coordination and admission from start to finish, the absorptive capacity, and the percentage rates for each system separately.

The coordination and admission process in the college is carried out according to the following conditions:

  1. The applicant student must have obtained a high school diploma (scientific section with an average of 55% for the general system and 50% for the parallel system for the year 2024/2025) or its equivalent.

  2. The period of obtaining the high school diploma by the student should not exceed 6 years.

  3. Coordination is done through the website https://oasyemen.net/

  4. The student obtains a portfolio number after completing the coordination steps, the portfolio is paid at the post office, and the coordination document is obtained.

  5. There are no admission tests for the academic year 2024/2025 according to the college and university councils and the admission and coordination policy for the current year. Only students who have paid the coordination portfolios are considered accepted in the college, each according to the coordinated specialty.

The Documents Required for Final Admission and Registration:

  • The original high school diploma + two copies of it + two normal copies.

  • A clear copy of the personal ID card, with the original brought for verification. 12 recent personal photos with a white background (4×6), not side views.

  • Fee vouchers for the general and parallel systems.

  • For those who obtained a high school diploma from abroad, the following is added: The original high school diploma equivalence.

  • A copy of the passport. Endorsement of the high school diploma from official authorities.

  • The student is considered registered in the college after fulfilling the required documents according to the conditions and controls of admission.

  • The student is given a registration number in the college and a university card, which is renewed every academic year after paying the prescribed fee vouchers.

  • The student’s file is kept in the college archive, containing all admission documents, and all documents related to the student’s academic and financial status during his study period at the college are added to it.

  • No student may be registered at the university for two academic degrees at the same time.

The Coordination, Admission, and Registration System for Bachelor’s Degree Holders:

  • A limited number (not exceeding 5% of the absorptive capacity of any college, specialty, and center) of Yemenis holding a license or bachelor’s degree wishing to join other colleges or specialties may be accepted under the following conditions: ‌

  • A- The applicant must be a graduate of a recognized and academically accredited university.

  • B- The applicant must fulfill all the required admission conditions to join the university in the year he wishes to join, except for the year of obtaining the high school diploma, which is determined based on the date of the last university degree obtained by the applicant if accepted as a new student. ‌

  • C- In case the student is accepted in a specialty or college corresponding to the previous college or specialty with at least a third of the courses, a scientific equivalence is conducted, and a certificate of grades and evaluations for the courses completed in the last college or specialty is granted.

  • The student may not be accepted in any of the university’s colleges and specialties unless he has studied in high school the subjects qualifying for admission to the college or specialty he wishes to join.

  • For the certificate issued outside Yemen to be accepted, it must be authenticated by the competent authorities in the country of issuance in Yemen and subjected to equivalence by the university’s equivalence committee.
