Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Empowers Students through Community Outreach
As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement and practical education, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine continues to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice. In a recent initiative, a fifth-year student provided comprehensive veterinary care for a pair of canaries brought to the faculty for treatment.
Upon clinical examination, the male canary was diagnosed with lameness affecting the joint or bone. The case was managed according to established scientific protocols, with the student administering Vitamin D to support the recovery process and bone health.
Simultaneously, the female canary was found to be suffering from bacterial conjunctivitis. The student successfully treated the infection using a targeted antibiotic ophthalmic ointment.
This initiative is a key component of the Faculty’s efforts to serve the local community while fostering the humanitarian and professional growth of its students. By providing opportunities for direct interaction with diverse veterinary cases, the Faculty ensures that its graduates are highly skilled and prepared to provide animal healthcare with both efficiency and responsibility.
