Sana’a University Launches First Veterinary Medical Camp in Ma’een District

The first veterinary medical camp to treat livestock was inaugurated today in Ma’een District, within the Capital Secretariat (Sana’a). The initiative is organized by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Sana’a University, under the generous patronage of the Sana’a University Presidency, the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, the local authority, and the Ma’een Cooperative Agricultural Society.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Prof. Abduljalil Al-Kebsi, the Executive Director of the Society, Prof. Samir Ahmed Al-Sharifi, and the Financial Director of the Society, Eng. Mahboub Al-Ahdal. Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani, explained that the camp will provide free treatment services for sick animals suffering from weakness, emaciation, worms, abscesses, and other ailments. In addition, the camp will offer guidance to farmers on how to manage such cases.
Dr. Al-Shawkani noted that fifth-year students from the Faculty will participate in the camp, which runs until the 30th of Dhu al-Qa’dah, as part of their graduation requirements (internship). The students will be divided into teams and supervised by faculty members.
The Chairman and the Executive Director of the Society emphasized that the camp offers its services to farmers free of charge, benefiting all livestock breeders in the directorate’s neighborhoods, particularly in Mathbah, Shamlan, Aser, and other areas. They urged farmers to cooperate with the veterinarians.
The Faculty Dean also indicated that the camp will be primarily located in Sana’a University campus, near Faculty of Medicine and behind the Attorney General’s office. If necessary, coordination will be made with the Society to deploy teams to different neighborhoods.
