Department of History and International Relations at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, today held a seminar for the Master’s thesis proposal presented by Ms. Wafaa Zaid Al-Mahbashi.
The proposal, titled: “The Status of Female Slaves (Jāriyāt) in Islam: A Comparative Study between the Islamic East and West (132–232 Hijri / 749–846 CE),” was supervised by Prof. Redwan Ahmed Al-Laith.
Al-Mahbashi presented her study plan, outlining the study’s objectives, methodology, and theoretical framework.
The committee—which included Prof. Redwan Al-Laith (Supervisor) and six examiners: Prof. Abdulhakim Al-Hijri, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Sha’bi, Dr. Huda Al-Waisi, Dr. Mustafa Ghaitham, Dr. Yahya Mohsen, and Dr. Zaynab Suhail—conducted a thorough review. Following the discussion, the committee unanimously approved the study plan, commending the candidate’s effort and the significance of the topic.
The session was attended by postgraduate students and faculty from the department.
