As part of Sana’a University’s ongoing efforts to enhance research quality and institutionalize the principles of academic rigor, the Academic Integrity Committee at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities convened today for its fifth regular meeting. The session was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdu Motahar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Academic Affairs, and held in the faculty’s main conference hall with committee members in attendance.
Dr. Motahar opened the meeting by welcoming the members and emphasizing the committee’s pivotal role in fostering a robust research culture. He underscored the importance of maintaining strict adherence to approved academic standards when drafting and evaluating postgraduate research proposals, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations to elevate the faculty’s scientific and research outcomes.
The committee addressed several agenda items, primarily focusing on monitoring compliance with academic integrity guidelines. Members also reviewed various proposals and recommendations aimed at developing research performance and enhancing the quality of scholarly output across all academic departments.
Furthermore, the committee evaluated a number of Master’s theses and PhD dissertation proposals, officially approving them after thorough discussions ensured they met all established scientific criteria, including original contribution, innovation, and sound research methodology.
In his closing remarks, the chair commended the members for their dedication and fruitful cooperation. He stressed the necessity of continuous coordination between the committee and academic departments to further advance academic rigor and solidify a culture of quality and institutional excellence across the faculty.
