Department of Archaeology and Tourism Holds Second Council Meeting for Academic Year 2026/2027

Department of Archaeology and Tourism at Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, convened its second departmental council meeting for the academic year 2026/2027. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ali, Head of the Department, and attended by council members to discuss key agenda items.
The council began by addressing several matters related to graduate programs. Members discussed the reassignment of academic supervisors for a master’s thesis and a Ph.D. dissertation following the passing of Prof. Abdulhakeem Shaif Mohammed—may he rest in peace. This measure ensures academic continuity and enables researchers to fulfill their degree requirements seamlessly.
Additionally, the council approved the registration of a master’s thesis title for a graduate student specializing in crafts and handiwork, alongside appointing an academic supervisor. The council also reviewed proposed master’s thesis titles for two female students in the same specialization to finalize academic procedures in compliance with university regulations.
On the academic front, the council reviewed the field training schedule for the first semester. Members emphasized the importance of implementing practical programs to enhance students’ hands-on skills, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The council concluded the meeting by reaffirming its commitment to advancing academic and research performance, adhering to university rules and regulations, elevating educational quality, and strengthening graduate studies programs.
