Department of Sociology Holds 4th Academic Council Meeting for the academic year 2026/2027

The Council of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, held its fourth meeting for the academic year 2026/2027 today, Tuesday. Chaired by Head of Department Dr. Hana’a Al-Mutawakel and attended by council members, the meeting addressed several academic and administrative issues related to the progress of the educational process and enhancing academic performance quality.
The council discussed admission applications for the diploma program intended for non-specialized students, reviewing admission mechanisms to ensure alignment with approved academic bylaws and regulations. The meeting also addressed the statistics course designated for visually impaired students, exploring appropriate means to facilitate their studies, uphold educational equity, and enhance academic achievement opportunities for all students.
As part of preparations for graduation projects, the council approved the allocation of academic supervision for senior-year (fourth-level) graduation research. This measure aims to streamline the supervision process, elevate the quality of research projects, and fulfill their scientific objectives.
Additionally, the council deliberated on several other academic and organizational matters pertaining to academic performance development, underscoring the department’s commitment to advancing its educational programs, monitoring student affairs, and providing a suitable academic environment according to rigorous scientific standards.
The meeting comes as part of the Department of Sociology’s regular sessions, reflecting its keenness to track various academic and administrative matters to enhance the quality of the educational process and serve the goals of both the department and the faculty.
