Mission
The Department of African Studies is committed to cultivating qualified specialists in African studies, endowed with specialized knowledge and skills that align with international standards. This seeks to enhance communication and engagement with the African continent, which is considered the strategic depth of the Republic of Yemen. Additionally, the department endeavors to serve as a center of expertise in African affairs, addressing the specific needs of Yemeni society and its institutions.
Vision
The Department of African Studies aspires to achieve excellence in the discipline of African studies, adhering to contemporary scientific standards. It aims to provide both theoretical and practical frameworks that equip students with essential professional competencies in this field.
Department Aims:
The Bachelor of African Studies program is designed to fulfill the following aims:
- To impart specialized knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of African studies to students.
- To equip students with both theoretical and practical skills pertinent to African studies, enabling them to engage professionally within their area of specialization.
- To foster a thorough understanding of Yemen-African relations among students.
- To develop essential communication skills that facilitate interaction with African societies.
- To train graduates in scientific research methodologies relevant to African studies.
- To graduate scientifically proficient male and female students in African studies, thereby meeting societal needs, enhancing employment opportunities, and preparing them for further postgraduate studies.
