The program aims to prepare academically and professionally qualified educational specialists for teaching the English language. It integrates the development of language skills with professional ethics and seeks to graduate competent professionals capable of meeting the growing demands of the labor market while keeping pace with contemporary developments in teaching methodologies and applied linguistics.
To achieve excellence and innovation in preparing and qualifying educational professionals in the field of English language education, enabling the faculty to become a competitive reference institution that keeps pace with global developments in language teaching methodologies.
The Department of English seeks to prepare qualified educational professionals in the field of English language teaching who are capable of competing in local and regional labor markets. The Department also aims to provide consultation and training services to various community institutions and to conduct scientific research that contributes to the knowledge economy and supports sustainable development. This is achieved through the provision of a stimulating learning environment, the enhancement of creativity and scientific thinking skills, and the effective use of modern technological tools, while upholding the values of transparency, collaboration, and teamwork.
1. To prepare qualified and distinguished educational professionals in the teaching of English, both academically and professionally, in accordance with quality standards.
2. To graduate highly competent teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for primary and secondary schools.
3. To develop student teachers’ academic, professional, ethical, and social competencies in accordance with Islamic values and the principles of Quranic education.
4. To prepare graduates capable of meeting the growing needs of the labor market and Yemeni society, while effectively addressing emerging challenges and contributing to ongoing developments in education and teaching.
5. To contribute to the preparation of graduates capable of conducting specialized scientific research in teaching methodologies, curriculum studies, and applied linguistics in line with contemporary developments.
6. To foster a strong culture of scientific research among faculty members and students.
7. To equip students with comprehensive knowledge of the English language, its various skills, literature, and linguistics.
