Department Overview

The program seeks to achieve quality and excellence in preparing geography teachers through an integrative approach that links theoretical knowledge with its practical applications. It focuses in parallel on equipping students with modern educational knowledge, enabling them to employ computer technologies and GIS software in education, and qualifying in-service teachers to keep pace with new developments.

Aims

1. To prepare students to a high academic and professional standard to teach at all educational levels.
2. To prepare students to become specialized teachers of geography and geographic information systems (GIS).
3. To enable students to apply educational and applied geographical knowledge after graduation.
4. To equip students with modern educational and geographical knowledge and its technological applications so that educational outcomes align with the demands of the local, regional, and international job markets.
5. To enable students to use computers to work with GIS and quantitative software.
6. To enable students to utilize modern teaching methods, educational tools, and the knowledge they acquired during their studies in diverse teaching and professional situations.
7. To provide in-service teacher training and enhance their modern knowledge and professional skills to keep pace with all educational, applied geographical, and technological developments.
