Water and Environment Center Approves Master’s Research Proposal Evaluating “Al-Dhabab” Temporary Landfill in Taiz

The Water and Environment Center (WEC) at Sana’a University convened an academic seminar today to review and approve the Master’s thesis research proposal submitted by researcher Abdulhakim Naji Saeed.
The proposed study is titled:
”Spatial Assessment and Landfill Site Suitability Modeling Using GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques: A Case Study of the Temporary Solid Waste Landfill in Al-Dhabab Area, Taiz, Republic of Yemen.”
The research proposal was prepared under the supervision of:
– Dr. Tariq Hashem Al-Habashi (Principal Supervisor)
– Prof. Fadhl Ali Al-Nuzaili (Co-Supervisor)
The academic evaluation and approval committee comprised a distinguished panel of specialists:
1. Prof. Hisham Mohammed Naji
2. Dr. Sharaf Al-Din Abdullah
3. Dr. Abdulrahman Salah
4. Dr. Taha Mohammed Al-Weshali
5. Dr. Mansour Haiderah
During the session, the researcher delivered a comprehensive visual presentation outlining the study’s objectives, practical significance, and scientific methodology. The presentation highlighted the theoretical framework, proposed hypotheses, and the advanced technical analysis tools to be utilized in the project.
Following an in-depth academic discussion and review that enriched the methodological framework, the committee officially approved the research proposal. The panel commended the researcher’s efforts, emphasizing the critical importance of the thesis topic in contributing to scientific literature and supporting environmental impact assessments of landfills on water and ecosystems in Yemen.
The seminar was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and graduate students from the center.
