CCTLT Board of Directors Holds First Meeting for Academic Year 1448

The Board of Directors of the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University held its first meeting for the year 1448 Hijri(2026-2027), chaired by Prof. Zaid Al-Wareeth. Rector’s Assistant for Centers Affairs, the Acting Chairman of the BoD. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, Director of the Center and Vice Chairman of the BoD; Dr. Yahya Obeid, Deputy Director of the Center; the Center’s advisors; and heads of academic departments.
During the meeting, the BoD reviewed the progress of the Center’s educational and academic process, as well as its community service activities. It discussed a number of issues in its agenda and took the necessary decisions and measures aimed at enhancing academic and administrative performance and further developing the Center’s programs and activities.
With regard to postgraduate studies, the BoD approved the results and recommendations of the viva-voce committees for two Master’s theses in Translation. It also endorsed the formation of viva-voce committees for two additional theses within the same program, as part of its efforts to support scientific research and encourage specialized academic studies.
The BoD further approved the research proposals submitted by two students enrolled in the Master’s Program in Translation after they had fulfilled all required academic and scientific requirements for thesis writing registration, thereby strengthening the Center’s efforts to advance research and improve the quality of postgraduate outputs.

As part of its institutional development activities, the BoD approved the final versions of the updated certificate templates for the Center’s academic programs and foreign language courses. The new certificates are designed to align with academic quality standards and reinforce the Center’s institutional identity.
Furthermore, the BoD discussed several issues related to student affairs and financial and administrative matters, approving a number of developmental proposals and procedures. One of the most notable topics was a proposal to reduce tuition fees for the Center’s postgraduate programs, with the aim of expanding access to these programs and enabling a broader segment of students and researchers to benefit from them.
At the end of the meeting, the BoD reaffirmed its commitment to the continuous development of the Center’s academic, research, and training programs and to enhancing the quality of the educational services it provides. These efforts are intended to strengthen the Center’s academic and community role and contribute to the achievement of Sana’a University’s mission and objectives.
