Introductory Workshop on the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at the Faculty of Medicine – Sana’a University

As part of a significant initiative to enhance medical education, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University organized a training workshop dedicated to introducing the MD (Doctor of Medicine) program to the graduates of the 36th cohort of the Faculty of Medicine. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari, along with several department heads, training program directors, and members of the academic staff.
The workshop aimed to highlight the MD program offered by the Faculty as one of the most important postgraduate programs. During the event, it was emphasized that the program is internationally accredited and provides physicians with the opportunity to obtain a prestigious academic degree, opening wide horizons for professional development both locally and internationally.
In his speech, Dr. Al-Shahari stressed the importance of the program in preparing physicians with high-level skills in scientific research and clinical practice. He pointed out that developing the local medical workforce is essential to addressing the challenges faced by the healthcare sector in Yemen.
The workshop included informative presentations by department heads and program directors focusing on the program’s objectives and admission requirements. It also featured productive discussions with attendees on strategies to improve the quality of medical education in alignment with international standards.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed great enthusiasm about enrolling in the program, considering it a genuine opportunity for both professional and academic growth.
