Objective of the Program :

The B.Sc. program in nursing at faculty of medicine and health sciences aims to:

  1. Emphasize excellence in theoretical and clinical training within optimal use of available institutional and clinical facilities

  2. Graduate highly qualified and well-trained nurses who can take decisions, solve problems, trace all developments with the aim of promoting public health, preventing diseases and improving methods of their treatment at all levels of health care.

  3. Promote and develop students’ communication skills, academic research and incorporate career ethics in the academic programs.

  4. Enhance students critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure graduating professional nurses who know the connection between scientific theory and research and practice.

  5. Encourage students to be self-motivated learners, and develop skills that would enable them to keep abreast of the rapid developments in the field of nursing.

  6. Demonstrate leadership and management in clinical and community setting.

  7. Maximize cooperation with local, regional and international institutions with the purpose of ensuring nursing care development.

The Nursing Division was opened in 1987 AD. In 2023 the bachelor’s degree graduates were the 31th. Thousands who were graduated from nursing division are participating in the academic process in the faculty of Medicine and health Science, in addition to their presence in many hospitals and universities of the Republic of Yemen and outside Yemen, regionally and globally.
