Workshop on Course File Preparation at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bakheiti, President of Sana’a University, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences organized a training workshop today entitled: “Course File Preparation for Faculty Members and Their Assistants in All Academic Departments”, with the participation of 95 faculty members.
As part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and implement international accreditation standards, the workshop aimed to equip participants with the skills needed to prepare course files in accordance with accreditation body requirements, while also enhancing their understanding of the components and significance of course files in improving academic program quality.
The workshop focused on practical training in systematically and scientifically preparing course files.
In the opening session, Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bakheiti, President of the University, emphasized the importance of the course file as a key requirement for academic accreditation. He urged academic departments to actively hold meetings to discuss updates and work toward aligning curricula with international standards.
Following this, Professor Dr. Saleh Bahaj, National Quality Expert and the Faculty’s Coordinator with the Accreditation Body, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the mechanisms and components of course file preparation. These included in-class activities, self-directed learning, exam specification tables, blueprints, and course content. The presentation witnessed strong engagement and constructive input from attendees.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty, called on all academic departments to commit to implementing the workshop’s outcomes and to complete their course files within one week.
He affirmed that this initiative represents a significant step in the Faculty’s pursuit of international academic accreditation and in enhancing its competitiveness both locally and globally.
The workshop was attended by Vice Deans, Department Heads, Faculty Members, and Quality Representatives from the academic departments.
