Held over two days, July 1–2, 2026, at Al-Thawra Modern General Teaching Hospital, the rigorous evaluation included 11 advanced clinical fellows.
The examinations represent a definitive academic milestone within the program. The testing criteria strictly adhered to modern medical education benchmarks governing advanced subspecialty clinical doctorates.
The evaluation balanced direct academic defense panels with real-time clinical rounds, mirroring international medical training models that prioritize clinical competency and evidence-based practice. This ensures that graduates are highly competitive and capable of delivering advanced cardiac care in line with global best practices.
The examination cycle was conducted under the direct supervision of a panel of elite cardiologists and academic leaders, including:
• Prof. Ahmed Lutf Al-Motareb, Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine

The rigorous nature of the exams reflects the high standards maintained by Sana’a University’s graduate medical programs, particularly its clinical doctorates.
The advanced MD program in Cardiovascular Disease is one of Sana’a University’s flagship medical tracks. It is specifically designed to graduate consultant-level cardiologists who possess sophisticated clinical expertise, medical knowledge, and clinical research capabilities to elevate the quality of cardiac care and meet national healthcare demands.
