This morning, a training workshop commenced at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for the Prosthetics and Orthotics Program, aiming to enhance clinical field supervision. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Khaled Al-Alkhamesy , the dean of the faculty, who welcomed the attendees, including the deputy mission director, the head of the Physical Therapy, Prosthetics, and Orthotics Program at the International Red Cross, foreign expert trainers from the International Red Cross, and participating individuals from various provinces of the Republic of Yemen.
Dr. Al-khamesy expressed gratitude for the support provided by the International Red Cross committee and highlighted their constructive role in promoting healthcare and rehabilitation. He also praised their efforts in providing support, training, and capacity-building for healthcare professionals in Yemen, leading to international recognition of the program by ISPO (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics), making it the only recognized program in the Middle East.
The workshop offers valuable opportunities to enhance practical skills for the participants, provide learning and development opportunities, and focus on clinical training aspects, designing and implementing suitable treatment programs for patients. It also facilitates the exchange of experiences and knowledge in the development and manufacturing of advanced prosthetics and orthotics, aiming to improve the quality of services provided to patients in this field.
