As part of the efforts of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University to fulfill the requirements for international academic accreditation for the Medicine and Surgery program, a meeting of the Academic Accreditation Council was held today, chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty, with the attendance of the Steering Committee and the heads of the committees responsible for academic standards.
The meeting addressed several key issues related to academic accreditation, primarily the review of international academic standards for the Medicine and Surgery program and discussions on ways to enhance the alignment of the faculty’s educational system with the requirements of the international accreditation body. The Dean emphasized the importance of completing the remaining indicators associated with academic standards to ensure accreditation is achieved.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Mujahed, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, outlined the procedures undertaken by the committees, including document review, performance indicators assessment, and self-evaluation reports.
Meanwhile, national expert Professor Dr. Saleh Bahaj, the national coordinator for academic accreditation at the faculty, provided his observations on the progress of work. The attendees also discussed mechanisms for improving performance to meet academic quality standards.
The meeting was attended by members of the Steering Committee and the heads of the specialized committees responsible for accreditation standards.
