Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University hosts the 9th Scientific Conference of the Yemeni Orthopedic Surgeons Association
The conference started today at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University with the opening of the 9th Scientific Conference of the Yemeni Orthopedic Surgeons Association. The conference focuses on orthopedic surgery, spinal column, and trauma injuries. The conference brings together a group of distinguished orthopedic surgery professors and doctors from various governorates. This scientific event is part of the role of the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University in organizing and hosting medical events. During the conference opening, General Sultan Al-Samai, a member of the Supreme Political Council, emphasized the importance of holding the conference at this time to exchange the latest techniques and developments in orthopedic surgery and provide solutions to the challenges resulting from the aggression on Yemen. He also praised the level of participation and interaction by doctors and orthopedic surgery professors from various governorates.
On his part, Dr. Ali Juhaf, the Deputy Minister of Health for the therapeutic medicine sector, highlighted the importance of these scientific conferences in improving and developing the health sector and the services provided to citizens in the current circumstances. He stressed the need for conference participants to benefit from the conference in improving performance and keeping up with developments in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Abdul Raqib Al-Marh, the President of the Yemeni Orthopedic Surgeons Association, expressed his pride in the achievements of orthopedic surgery consultants and doctors in Yemen, specifically their ability to hold medical conferences despite difficult conditions. He confirmed that the conference aims to develop the skills and capabilities of doctors and orthopedic surgeons through the exchange of experiences and knowledge and the discussion of scientific papers.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Galib Mutlaq, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Khaled Al-Khamesy and a number of heads of scientific and preparatory committees, as well as heads and representatives of institutions and hospitals.
This initiative comes as part of the role of the faculty in enhancing medical work, exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of orthopedic and spine surgery, and the desired benefit, especially for postgraduate students, and improving the quality of medical and research services and patient safety in our country.
