Meeting of Deans of Medical Faculties in the Republic of Yemen and Discussion on the Introduction of Patient Safety Course to the Medical Program
On the morning of Thursday, January 11, 2024, a scientific meeting was held for the deans of government and private medical colleges in Yemen. The meeting was attended by Dr. Khaled Al-Khamesy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University, who discussed the introduction of a curriculum focusing on patient safety in Yemeni medical faculties.
The meeting was conducted via video conferencing (Zoom) upon the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arab University, Dr. Ali Batrafi, and as part of the implementation of the outcomes of the International Conference on Patient Safety held in Mukalla last December and the recommendations of the World Health Organization. At the end of the meeting, representatives from the Faculties were nominated, and Dr. Saleh Bahaj was nominated as a representative of the Faculty to attend the upcoming meetings and discuss the details of the curriculum, academic level, and appropriate credit hours.
