*Meeting of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine with the Head of UNICEF’s Vaccination Program in Yemen*
Today, Professor Khaled Al-Khameesi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Chairman of the National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group NITAG for Immunization, met with the Head of UNICEF’s Vaccination Program in Yemen.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance collaboration in vaccination strategies and direct efforts toward improving child immunization and nutrition amid ongoing challenges. The current state of vaccination was reviewed, along with methods to improve access and coverage, as well as discussions on strategic partnerships to address logistical challenges and strengthen monitoring systems.
Participants emphasized the importance of providing the group with successful studies and experiences from abroad to support vaccination efforts. The meeting also highlighted the role of the faculty in offering scientific consultations and conducting necessary research to ensure safe community services, with a focus on training relevant personnel to enhance their capabilities in this field.
The meeting was attended by several consultants from the Faculty of Medicine, including Professor Khaled Al-Muayyad, Professor Saleh Bahajj, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Khamesi from UNICEF.
