On the morning of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the periodic meeting of the academic accreditation committees for the Medicine and Surgery Program was held at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bakheiti, President of the University.
At the outset of the meeting, the University President praised the outstanding efforts exerted by the Faculty’s administration and its academic and administrative staff. He emphasized the importance of continuing the pursuit of fulfilling the requirements for international academic accreditation (WFME). He also stressed the need to adhere to global academic standards to ensure the provision of high-quality medical education that meets labor market demands and keeps pace with rapid scientific advancements in the medical field.
For his part, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the University President and highlighted the significance of this meeting in promoting the quality of education and developing academic programs in line with international accreditation standards.
The meeting addressed a number of key topics, most notably the evaluation of the academic programs at the Faculty and the proposed mechanisms for meeting accreditation standards. Appropriate decisions were taken accordingly.
Professor Dr. Saleh Bahaj, External Coordinator for Academic Accreditation, delivered a presentation on the measures taken thus far in the process of fulfilling the accreditation requirements. He also reviewed the time-bound implementation plan aimed at achieving the set goals.
The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Huda Al-Emad, Dean of the Academic Development Center at the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Mujahed, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, as well as the heads of the committees responsible for academic standards, department chairs, and several faculty members.
