Sana’a University Celebrates the Graduation of the 34th Batch of Medical Students

Sana’a – Today, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University celebrated the graduation of the 34th cohort of medical students for the academic year 1446 AH. The event, marked by an outstanding academic and official presence, saw the graduation of 224 students.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Health and Environment, Professor Ali Sheiban, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and their families for their achievements after years of hard work and perseverance. He expressed hope for their future contributions to improving Yemen’s healthcare sector, stating: “Your graduation today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your journey, where you will serve society across various hospital departments, providing the highest levels of humanitarian care.” He also commended the faculty’s efforts in enhancing its academic programs, solidifying its reputation both locally and regionally.
Dr. Sheiban further urged the faculty to invest in top-performing graduates by appointing them as teaching assistants and encouraging them to pursue postgraduate studies to meet the growing healthcare demands in the country.
In his address, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatim Al-Daees, congratulated the graduates on this significant achievement, accomplished amidst the challenging economic and political conditions facing the country. He emphasized Yemen’s reliance on these young professionals to elevate healthcare services and highlighted the importance of adhering to professional ethics and providing healthcare with a humanitarian spirit.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University, Associate Professor Mohammed Al-Shahari, expressed his pride in the graduates, who demonstrated their commitment to advancing their academic and practical skills. He praised the teaching staff for laying a strong scientific foundation for the students. Professor Al-Shahari stated that the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University has become a model for academic excellence in Yemen and aims to compete regionally and internationally through the efforts of its academic staff and the modernization of its curricula.
Additional speeches were delivered by the Chair of the Preparatory Committee, Mohammed Al-Hijami; the Student Activities Coordinator, Ahmed Al-Mansour; and the Head of the University Student Forum, Asim Al-Salahi. They expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the students throughout their educational journey.
The ceremony, attended by university leaders, directors of healthcare institutions, deans, and faculty members, included a variety of segments such as a poetic recital highlighting the perseverance and dedication of the students.
The event concluded with the recognition of faculty members, administrative staff, and graduates, who were honored with certificates of appreciation. The atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration of the academic achievements that mark the beginning of the graduates’ professional journeys in the healthcare sector.
