The Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources at Sana’a University held a seminar today to present a master’s thesis proposal submitted by the researcher: Mu’ad Abdulrahman Ali Al-Zubaidi, titled: “Management of Wellbore Instability in Oil Wells Using Geomechanical Modeling in Block 32, Masila Basin, Yemen”
During the session, the researcher presented his scientific thesis plan, clarifying the study’s objectives, its importance in the oil industry, its research methodology, and the theoretical and conceptual framework upon which it relies in utilizing geomechanical concepts to reduce losses associated with wellbore instability and their impact on drilling budgets, human risks, and the environment in the event of failure to control the well
Following an extensive discussion by the specialized committee, the necessary scientific observations were provided to enrich the plan, while the researcher’s efforts and the importance of the study’s topic in improving drilling operations in the study area were commended.
