The Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at Sana’a University held a public hearing (seminar) for the Therapeutic Nutrition course submitted by students of the Human Nutrition Program, fourth level, to obtain a practical degree for the Therapeutic Nutrition course.
The students discussed the most important topics related to nutrition that were applied practically, and supervised by Eng. Asmaa Al-Ghuwail, Dr. Adnan Al-Qabati, and Dr. Abdul Majeed Bajash.
During the session, the students gave a comprehensive presentation about the seminar, discussing the title of the seminar and the definition of diseases (diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease and arteriosclerosis, blood pressure, celiac disease, cancer) and their effects, symptoms, prevention, and the importance of prevention.
It also covered the permitted and prohibited foods for each disease, the designated meals, and the importance of taking care of nutrition during illness, in addition to the habits that must be adhered to to treat the disease and alleviate symptoms,
and treatment methods and the relationship between age, weight, and physical activity with all these diseases.
On the other hand, the students reviewed the most important results in caring for nutrition before, during, and after contracting the disease, which were all wonderful, logical results and of great health importance to those suffering from these diseases.
The council members and attendees discussed the title of the symposium and everything related to it and the methods used in searching for information and results, and presented their necessary and essential observations and recommendations.
This first session (Symposium 1) is one of the most important requirements that a student must pass as a graduate to support his self-confidence and enhance his ability to present, research, and read and increase information related to his specialization.
The session was attended by the head and faculty members of the department, along with a number of undergraduate students from all departments and postgraduate studies in the college, in a scientific atmosphere characterized by positive interaction and academic enrichment.
