Public Hearing Session Held to Discuss 2 for Researcher “Shaimaa Amer Abdul-Wahhab Al-Aghbari”.

The Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition at the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at Sana’a University held a public hearing session (seminar) on Wednesday morning, 29 Rajab 1446 AH, corresponding to January 29, 2025 AD, to discuss 2 for the research plan submitted by the student “Shaimaa Amer Abdul-Wahhab Al-Aghbari” to obtain a master’s degree.
The researcher discussed the tools and materials used in the study and the most important results she reached for her thesis
entitled The effect of partial replacement of wheat flour with millet flour fortified with lentils and soybeans on nutritional value, qualitative properties and glycemic index.
During the session, the student gave a comprehensive presentation of her research plan, covering the research title, research problem, importance of the research, research problem, research methodology, previous studies, in addition to the main and sub-objectives of the study, study sample, materials and work methods that she followed to implement her scientific study.
The study methods covered the method of preparing bread, chemical analyses, sensory evaluation, measuring bread volume and measuring the glycemic index. On the other hand, the researcher reviewed the most important results she reached, all of which were wonderful, logical and of economic and health importance to society, especially for diabetics.
The council members and attendees discussed the research title, research plan, methods used in the study and the results reached, each from their scientific perspective, and provided their necessary and essential observations and recommendations. This second discussion session (Discussion No. 2) is one of the most important requirements that the student must pass to obtain the department’s approval of her study results before the final discussion of the thesis, as the discussion and judging committee will be determined to discuss the thesis publicly in the final session. The session was attended by the head and faculty members of the college, along with a number of graduate students of the college, in a scientific atmosphere characterized by positive interaction and academic enrichment.
