Public Seminar Held for MA Thesis Proposal: Mr. Hamza Ahmed Ahmed Al-Shamsi

Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at Sana’a University, convened a public seminar on Saturday, 5 Dhu al-Qa’dah 1446 Hijri, corresponding to May 3, 2025, to present the MA thesis proposal of Mr. Hamza Ahmed Ahmed Al-Shamsi. This seminar marks a partial fulfillment of the requirements for Master’s degree.
In the session, Mr. Al-Shamsi detailed the instruments and resources intended for his research, alongside preliminary insights anticipated for his thesis, which is titled: “Quality and Safety Levels of Select Local and Imported Juice Products Available in the Markets of the Capital Secretariat and Sana’a Governorate.”
During his presentation, Mr. Al-Shamsi provided a comprehensive exposition of his research design, encompassing the thesis title, the research problem, its significance, the central research questions, and the proposed methodology. He also outlined relevant prior studies, the primary and secondary objectives of his investigation, the study sample, and the materials and procedural approaches that will be adopted for the execution of this scientific research.
The methodological framework of the study includes an examination of various local and imported juices, nectars, and syrups, analyzing their physical, chemical, and microbiological attributes, as well as the methods of sample acquisition. Furthermore, the study will assess the economic implications and health safety aspects for consumers.
Faculty members and attendees engaged in a discussion of the thesis title, the research plan, and the proposed research methods. Constructive feedback and essential recommendations were offered to facilitate the successful completion of the research and the attainment of the intended outcomes.
This initial presentation session (Seminar No. 1) represents a critical milestone for the candidate, as it is a prerequisite for securing the endorsement of both the department and the faculty on the research proposal, including the proposed materials and methodologies deemed necessary for achieving rigorous and relevant research findings.
The seminar was attended by the Head of the Department, faculty members, representatives from the faculty’s integrity committee, and numerous postgraduate students from the faculty, fostering a scholarly environment characterized by active engagement and academic enrichment.
