As part of the practical component of the “Organic Agriculture and Biological Control” course, fourth-year students in the Department of Soil and Environment, supervised by Eng. Asmaa Al-Watari, carried out a field project to produce compost using simple and sustainable techniques.
The project involved digging a special pit in the soil and preparing it to receive organic waste. Vegetable scraps, dry tree leaves, and cardboard waste were shredded and collected. This activity aims to promote the concept of recycling agricultural waste and converting it into a rich organic material that helps increase soil fertility and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers.
