Sana’a University Rector and Minister of Health Inspect Central Laboratories at the Faculty of Agriculture

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, received today Prof. Ali Abdulkarim Shaiban, Minister of Health and Environment, for a high-level inspection visit to the Central Laboratory Center at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. The visit aimed to assess technical readiness and operational progress within the facility.
Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by Dr. Adel Al-Weshli, the Faculty Dean, and Dr. Mansour Al-Dhabhani, Director of the Central Laboratories, alongside senior administrative and technical staff. During the tour, the University Rector and the Minister reviewed the technical status of the laboratories, the completion phases of equipment installation, and the operational protocols for advanced laboratory instruments, all maintained in accordance with certified technical standards to bolster scientific research and academic excellence.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and teamwork to ensure the full operational capacity of the center’s equipment. He highlighted the positive impact this will have on students, particularly postgraduates, noting that these facilities will serve various national entities, including the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances, the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO), and the Ministry of Agriculture. He further identified the Ministry of Health as a primary partner in this project, describing the center as an integral component of the national health system.
What is more, the Minister of Health and Environment expressed his pride in visiting Sana’a University—his alma mater—stressing the vital need for cooperation between the Ministries of Health and Agriculture to operate the laboratories efficiently. He underscored that these advanced instruments are national assets that must be optimally utilized to serve the community and advance the frontiers of scientific research.
