Department of Agricultural Economics Reviews Master’s Thesis Proposal for Researcher Abdullah Abo Taleb

The Department of Agricultural Economics at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at Sana’a University held a thesis proposal defense (Seminar 1) today for Master’s candidate Abdullah Mohammed Ismail Abo Taleb. The proposal is titled “The Role of Import Substitution Policies in Supporting Local Production for the Yemeni Coffee Sector: An Analytical Study.”
The thesis proposal defense was conducted under the supervision of:
• Prof. Khaled Qasim Qaid, Head of the Department of Economics
• Prof. Khaled Al-Haj, Supervisor
• Prof. Amer Al-Qubati, Co-Supervisor
The examination committee consisted of:
• Prof. Dhafer Musleh Huwaydah, Examiner
• Prof. Ali Al-Lisani, Examiner
• Prof. Jalal Fadhl, Examiner
• Prof. Mohiuddin Al-Haj, Examiner
• Prof. Mohammed Raweh, Examiner
• Prof. Ahmed Al-Samawi, Examiner
During the session, the researcher presented his scientific proposal, outlining the study’s objectives, significance, methodology, literature review, and underlying theoretical framework, in addition to the proposed hypotheses and analytical tools. Committee members provided academic feedback and developmental notes, following which the proposal was formally approved and passed.
The committee praised the researcher’s efforts, the importance of the study topic, and its role in enhancing local production.
The session was attended by several faculty members, academic colleagues, and graduate students.
