Third-year trainees from the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, conducted a breast cancer awareness workshop at Al-Shaheed Al-Osaimi School as part of their field training coursework. The session was held under the supervision of Faculty Advisor Ms. Mona Al-Rayashi.
The educational initiative introduced students to breast cancer awareness and highlighted the critical role of early detection in improving treatment outcomes. The presentation emphasized promoting a health-conscious culture, adopting healthy lifestyle habits, and prioritizing preventive care through regular medical checkups.
The event featured an interactive discussion where participating students engaged directly by asking questions. To further support community wellness, the trainees distributed educational brochures containing practical guidance on breast cancer prevention and early screening to encourage proactive healthcare practices.
This outreach activity forms an integral part of the Social Work Department’s field training curriculum, which aims to bridge academic knowledge with practical application while empowering students to drive community outreach and public health education.
