1.        Program Introduction/Description

The Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy program is designed for pharmacists who have earned a B. Pharm or a Pharm.D and are seeking to update their professional knowledge and skills. The program enables graduates to effectively provide patient-centered pharmacy care and expa   nd their careers. The Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy program is a flexible 36 credit hour.

Mission of the Program

Excellence and leadership locally, regionally and globally, in providing knowledge that enables the graduates to practice effectively in the clinical setting with the clinical clerkships and to apply theses principles to patient care .

Aims of the Program

1-The aim of this specialty postgraduate program is to develop and enhance clinical practice knowledge and skills of pharmacists to meet ever changing and challenging needs of healthcare system and society.

2 The program will enable the graduates to be appointed as specialist pharmacist or senior specialist pharmacist.

3-Familiarizing the students with the advance clinical pharmacokinetics and advance community and hospital pharmacy practice.

4-Confidence and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

5-Ability to reflect on their practice to inform their professional development. 

                                                                                                 3.        Program Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

A.       Knowledge and Understanding

Upon successful completion of the MSc Clinical Pharmacy Program, graduates should be able to:

A1.

Design pharmaco-therapeutic plans to ensure rational use of medicines.

A2.

Demonstrate advance levels of problem solving, critical analysis, communication and decision making skills.

A3.

Apply the principles of evidence based medicine in decision making in clinical practice.

A4.

Develop and extend pharmacist-led clinical services in hospitals with an aim to improve quality of healthcare.

A5.

Conduct quality research to improve local clinical practices and disseminate research findings.

B.        Intellectual Skills

Upon successful completion of the MSc Clinical Pharmacy Program, graduates should be able to:

Plan a modern system for administration of medical foundations and merge the ethics to business during the drug marketing 

B2.

Interpret the prescriptions, patient and clinical data, analysis all the encountered pharmaceutical problems and plan the strategies for their solution to develop the health care.

B3.

Analyze and evaluate information in the fields of clinical pharmacy,
pharmacotherapy, laboratory data interpretation and drug
pharmacokinetics.

B4.

Recognize problems in clinical practice.

B5.

Integrate different aspects of drug usage and pharmacokinetics to
suggest solutions for research and professional problems.

B6.

Suggest plans for enhancing performance in the field of clinical
pharmacy.

B7.

Design scientific researches in clinical pharmacy and write a thesis.

C.       Practical and Professional Skills

Upon successful completion of the MSc Clinical Pharmacy Program, graduates should be able to:

Provide patient-oriented pharmaceutical care by collaboration with other health care professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

Employ research studies and utilize the results in different Clinical Pharmacy Practice.

Write and evaluate clinical reports and scientific manuscript
