The Higher Committee for Scientific Research at Sana’a University held its seventh regular meeting today, chaired by Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Mutaa, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Committee. The meeting was attended by Prof. Abdo Al-Keli, General Supervisor of the University’s Scientific Journals, and members of the Committee.
At the outset, the Committee Chair welcomed the members and commended their efforts to support the advancement of scientific research and develop the university’s academic publishing system. He emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to enhance the quality of research output and strengthen Sana’a University’s presence within the national and international academic and scientific communities.
The meeting reviewed a number of items on its agenda, foremost among them a proposal presented by Prof. Abduh Al-Keli to restructure and further develop the Journal of Human Sciences. The proposal aims to keep pace with recent developments in scientific research and academic publishing, respond to the growing number of researchers seeking to publish in the journal, and strengthen its scientific and academic standing.
The Committee also reviewed a number of applications submitted by researchers for scientific publication incentives and approved several of them in accordance with the university’s applicable regulations, bylaws, and approved criteria.
The Committee further reviewed a number of research papers submitted for academic promotion and discussed the suitability of the journals selected by researchers for publishing their work, as well as their compliance with approved scientific standards. Members emphasized the importance of verifying the credibility and reliability of academic journals and avoiding publication in predatory or untrusted journals in order to safeguard the quality of scientific research and protect the academic standing of both researchers and the university.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Committee reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to develop the university’s scientific research and academic publishing system, improve the quality of its scientific journals, and strengthen standards of quality, credibility, and reliability in academic publishing. These efforts aim to further consolidate Sana’a University’s position as an academic and research institution and enhance its scientific standing at the national, regional, and international levels.
