Conclusion of the External Review Team’s Work for the Institutional Accreditation of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment at Sana’a University

Today, Wednesday, 1 Rajab 1446 Hijri, corresponding to January 1, 2025, the work of the external review team for institutional accreditation at the CAQA for the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment concluded, in the presence of Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, CAQA Vice Chairman, and Prof. Mohammed Dhaifullah, Secretary-General of the Council, and the external review team headed by Prof. Qais Abdullah Nujaim and the team members Prof. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, Prof. Sadiq Hasan Al-Shiraji, Prof. Zaid Ahmed Al-Hadour, and Prof. Lutfi Al-Maqtari, and representatives of Sana’a University, Prof. Huda Al-Sanhani, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, and Prof. Adel Mohammed Al-Weshli, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Abdulmajeed Bajash, Vice Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs, and Prof. Mohammed Raweh, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, and Dr. Amer Mahdi, Vice Dean for Student Affairs. The visit lasted for four consecutive days, during which the team reviewed the files of evidence and documentation submitted by the faculty, and the committee finished reviewing all the standards, indicators, evidence, and documentation related to the quality standards in the faculty for institutional accreditation, and conducted many meetings and interviews with representatives of academic standards, students, graduates, faculty staff, and employers. The team also visited the facilities, laboratories, equipment, and contents of the faculty, including classrooms, the control room, the library, faculty departments, the educational farm, the clinic, administrative offices, the mosque, and other facilities affiliated with the faculty, according to the visit’s agenda.
At the end of the visit, Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, CAQA Vice Chairman, reviewed the procedures for institutional academic accreditation and what the faculty must do after the accreditation process. He praised the efforts made by the team headed by Prof. Qais Abdullah Nujaim and all the team members during the past four days and thanked the university leadership represented by Prof. Al-Kasem Abass, the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Huda Al-Sanhani, and the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Adel Al-Weshli.
Prof. Qais Abdullah Nujaim, head of the external review team, reviewed the visit plan, the procedures carried out by the team, as well as the meetings held by the team since the first day according to the plan and the timetable for the visit, and also reviewed the most important strengths and weaknesses of the faculty.
For his part, the Dean of the faculty praised the efforts of the external review team at the Accreditation Council during the visit to the faculty, and their professionalism and work in the spirit of one team at the faculty. He also praised and appreciated the unlimited support from Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, Rector of the University, to the faculty. Stressing the faculty’s determination, with all its affiliates, to turn weaknesses into strengths, and to work continuously and seriously on continuous improvement and development. Dr. Al-Weshli also confirmed that the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, during the coming years, will witness a transformation and development for the better, and support an effective partnership with employers and the labor market. The closing session was attended by the Vice Deans, heads of departments, and a number of faculty members, administrators, technicians, and students of the faculty.
