CAQA: External Reviewers Team Concludes Field Visit for Programmatic Accreditation of the Veterinary Medicine Program at Sana’a University

The field visit for the external reviewers’ team assessing the program accreditation of the Veterinary Medicine Program at Sana’a University came to a close today after three consecutive days. The visit included completing the field visit plan, conducting discussions and meetings with representatives of academic standards, and reviewing the program’s facilities.
At the conclusion of the visit, Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, Vice Chairman of the Council, emphasized that the Veterinary Medicine Program is one of the most important programs that needs to be on top of the government’s developmental priorities, as it is closely linked to the country’s natural resources and economic potential. He also highlighted the program’s outcome’s role in supporting Yemen’s economy, as Yemen possesses a large livestock wealth that requires proper attention. Prof. Al-Shuaibi discussed the Council’s expectations for the faculty after the team’s visit and stressed the importance of utilizing feedback from employers to improve the relationship between the faculty and the labor market.
Prof. Al-Shuaibi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the team, led by Dr. Ibrahim Radman Mohammed Al-Shaibani, along with Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Atiq Al-Khader and Prof. Dr. Aref Saleh Mohammed Abdulghani, as well as the expert committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Lotfi Al-Maqtari. Acknowledgment was also given to Dr. Huda Al-Sanhani, General Director of Accreditation, Dr. Mohsen Al-Hazmi, Director of Follow-Up at the Council, and Mr. Mansour Al-Selwi, General Director of Media. Special appreciation was extended to the university’s Rector, Prof. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas, Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the faculty’s Vice-rectors and heads of departments.
On another note, Dr. Mohammed Dhaifallah, General Secretary, reviewed the procedures for academic accreditation, its significance, and the differences between program and institutional accreditation, as well as the Council’s efforts since August.
In the presentation, attended by Dr. Muneer Al-Azani, Vice Dean of the Council, Prof. Lotfi Al-Maqtari, a council member, reviewed the program’s accreditation procedures and steps, from the agreement signing to the visit.
Prof. Ibrahim Al-Shaibani, the team’s leader, presented the field visit plan, the actions undertaken by the team, and highlighted the program’s strengths and weaknesses.
The presentation was attended by Dr. Abdulraqeeb Al-Shami, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, Dr. Saleh Al-Omaisi, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, heads of departments, faculty members, and students.
