Sana’a University Honors Contributors to Institutional and Programmatic Academic Accreditation

On Monday, March 10, 2025, Sana’a University recognized the teams that played a vital role in achieving institutional and programmatic academic accreditation for its faculties.
Under the patronage of Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, University Rector, a ceremony was held to recognize the team’s efforts from the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center in securing national institutional and programmatic accreditation from the CAQA.
During the honoring ceremony, organized by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, the University Rector emphasized that this recognition is a token of appreciation for the efforts of the Center, deans of the faculties, vice deans for quality affairs, general secretaries, and the teams involved in achieving institutional and programmatic academic accreditation for all academic programs. He noted that only the Medical Laboratory and Advanced Nursing programs at the Faculty of Medicine are still in the process of fulfilling accreditation requirements.
Prof. Al-Kasem Abbas highlighted that quality assurance is a shared responsibility and an ongoing commitment to maintaining high academic standards. He stressed that continuous evaluations will be conducted by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center along with the CAQA to ensure sustained adherence to accreditation standards.
He further stated that the university is working toward international accreditation and urged deans of the faculties to establish committees to study relevant international accreditation criteria and accrediting bodies to align their programs accordingly.
Dr. Huda Al-Imad, Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, affirmed that the accreditation standards set by the CAQA align with international standards. She emphasized that achieving national accreditation is a key prerequisite for international recognition, as most of the requirements overlap, affirming that this necessitates confident steps toward meeting the remaining criteria for international accreditation.
She also highlighted that the university has successfully met 95% of the criteria necessary for obtaining international accreditation for its Medicine and Surgery program. She praised the university administration for its strong support for the teams in achieving this national milestone—securing full institutional and programmatic academic accreditation across its faculties.
Attended by Prof. Omar Daer, Dean of the Faculty of Media Al-Bukhayti, Dr. Mohammed Dhaifallah, General Secretary of the CAQA, Abdulrahman Al-Safani, member of the CAQA, Dr. Mohammed Shukri, the University Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Zaid Al-Wareeth, Assistant to the University Rector for Centers Affairs, Mr. Adel Al-Habbabi, Assistant to the University Rector for Media Affairs, and Mr. Iskandar Al-Maqaleh, University General Secretary, the ceremony concluded with the honoring of the team from the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, who received shields and certificates of appreciation, starting with the academic staff:
