Measuring Learning Outcomes and Test Construction Workshop held at Faculty of Education and Sciences – Khawlan

Under the auspices of Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana’a University, the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center organized a workshop on “Measuring Learning Outcomes and Test Construction” on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, targeting faculty members and teaching assistants at the Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences – Khawlan.
At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Nasser Hasel, the Faculty’s Dean, welcomed the participants and commended the efforts of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center in supporting colleges and enhancing the academic assessment and evaluation competencies of faculty members.
Prof. Huda Al-Emad, Dean of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, praised the leadership of the college and its academic and administrative teams for their commitment to improving academic performance quality. She emphasized the importance of activating quality practices that contribute to improving educational processes and outcomes within the college.
The workshop included a range of theoretical and practical activities, focusing on developing learning outcome matrices and formulating exam questions aligned with intended learning goals and expected outcomes.
Led by Dr. Ali Shamlan, the workshop aimed to strengthen the faculty’s capacity to design and construct effective and objective examinations that accurately reflect the skills and knowledge targeted in course syllabus, ensuring alignment with quality and accreditation standards.
The workshop concluded with an affirmation of the need to continue organizing similar training activities, given their positive impact on enhancing educational quality and improving overall academic performance at the college.
The event was attended by Dr. Abdulkhaleq Al-Dhabiani, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, along with other vice deans, department heads, faculty members, and administrative staff from relevant departments.
