Council of Accreditation & Quality Assurance Conducts Institutional Self-Assessment Workshop
Sana’a, Yemen – The Council of Accreditation & Quality Assurance (CAQA) held a training workshop for institutional self-assessment teams at Sana’a University on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Council’s headquarters. The workshop aimed to train participants on how to conduct institutional self-assessments in accordance with its strategic plans to meet the requirements of the National Vision in the field of education.
Prof. Ahmed Al-Haboub, the Council’s Chairperson, emphasized the significance of applying the workshop’s outcomes, noting that this was the first training of its kind. He urged participants to utilize the acquired knowledge to assess all colleges according to the academic accreditation standards. Prof. Abdul Aziz Al-Shuaibi, the Council Deputy Chairperson, also commended the Council’s unfailing commitment to empowering educational institutions in their pursuit of accreditation.
Dr. Mohammed Dhaifallah, the Council Secretary General, provided a detailed explanation of the institutional academic accreditation procedures, showing how these procedures are different from those of the programmatic accreditation. A panel of experts then reviewed the relevant standards and mechanisms of institutional accreditation procedures and standards. Participants engaged in interactive working group sessions to discuss essential academic accreditation documentation.
The workshop, which was attended by the Prof. Huda Al-Emad, the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center (DQAC) and self-assesment teams in the University colleges, concluded with a session on the methodology of preparing a self-assessment study report, and participants were honored and awarded certificates.
