Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center
The Academic Programs Accreditation Unit is responsible for coordinating with quality assurance units in colleges and scientific centers to develop and update academic programs according to national, regional, and international quality and accreditation standards.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Academic Programs Accreditation Unit:
- Assisting University colleges and centers in developing their academic programs to meet national, regional, and international accreditation standards.
- Supporting continuous improvement processes for programs by guiding activities developers to meet required quality standards.
- Recommending the use of modern technology in the academic field.
- Proposing seminars, courses, and scientific conferences for academic development and quality assurance processes and contributing to their implementation.
- Developing methods of curriculum preparation and development.
- Achieving national and international standards in curriculum according to quality and academic accreditation standards.
- Updating the University curricula in line with the curricula of international universities.
- Contributing to the planning of the comprehensive strategic plan for developing academic programs and their components based on adopted reference standards, in collaboration with the Planning and Monitoring Unit.
- Developing academic standards for University programs in collaboration with academic departments and quality assurance units in University colleges, centers, and institutes according to the standards of the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance.
- Assisting in setting standards and indicators for academic performance levels at the University.
- Coordinating with quality assurance units in colleges and scientific centers to form specialized teams for the self-assessment process of academic programs.
- Proposing workshops for the development of academic programs to ensure quality and academic accreditation and contribute to their implementation.
- Monitoring quality assurance units in colleges and scientific centers in the development of their academic programs.
- Providing consultation and support in the field of academic development of programs to all the University’s colleges and centers.
- Performing assigned tasks within the framework of academic development within the University.
- Contributing, in collaboration with the Measurement and Evaluation Unit and other units, to preparing and enhancing curriculum analysis and development tools.
- Conducting field studies and research in curriculum analysis and development.
- Contributing to the establishment of an electronic database for curriculum analysis and development tools.
- Holding training courses in curriculum analysis and development for faculty members in various colleges.
- Providing the Information Systems Unit with reports on the compatibility of the curriculum with the requirements of the labor market.
