The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Sana’a University is the first governmental faculty specialized in Applied Medical Sciences in Yemen. It was established in early 2020 in response to the growing national demand for allied health and specialized medical professions, contributing to the development of the healthcare sector and the enhancement of healthcare services.
Since its establishment, the faculty has benefited from its strategic location within the University Medical Campus, which provides advanced infrastructure, modern laboratories, educational facilities, and highly qualified academic staff. These resources have enabled the faculty to develop distinguished academic programs that keep pace with contemporary scientific and technological advancements in the field of Applied Medical Sciences.
The faculty is committed to preparing competent and highly qualified healthcare professionals capable of meeting labor market demands and serving the community at both national and regional levels. It offers specialized academic programs in rare and highly demanded allied health disciplines that play a vital role in strengthening healthcare systems.
Within a relatively short period, the faculty has successfully graduated three cohorts of qualified professionals who now contribute to healthcare institutions, laboratories, and medical centers across Yemen, supporting the country’s healthcare workforce and sustainable development goals. The faculty has also initiated preparations for postgraduate programs to promote scientific research, advance applied knowledge, and develop future academic and professional leaders capable of addressing emerging healthcare challenges.
In line with its commitment to quality and institutional excellence, the faculty has developed and enhanced its organizational and administrative structure to ensure effective governance and efficient performance. Continuous efforts are being made to improve academic and administrative processes in accordance with quality assurance and accreditation standards. As part of its future vision, the faculty developed its Strategic Plan (2027–2030), which serves as a roadmap for advancing academic programs, scientific research, community engagement, and national and international partnerships, strengthening its position as a leading institution in Applied Medical Sciences at the national level.
