Sana’a University Honors 33 PhD Graduates from the Center of Business Administration

Sana’a University highlighted its numerous achievements in postgraduate studies and scientific research through a prestigious ceremony held to award PhD certificates to 33 researchers who had completed the requirements for the doctoral degree at the Center of Business Administration, under the patronage of Hassan Abdullah Al-Saadi, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana’a University.
The ceremony represented an academic and national occasion highlighting the leading role played by Sana’a University in developing scientific competencies. In a speech delivered on behalf of Minister Hassan Al-Saadi, Dr. Hatem Al-Daees,The Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of scientific research as a fundamental pillar of development and stressed the need to support postgraduate programs in ways that contribute to serving the nation across various scientific and humanitarian fields.
He commended the prominent role and leadership of Sana’a University in designing and developing master’s and doctoral programs, noting its contribution to overcoming the effects of the blockade imposed on Yemen and in qualifying thousands of researchers. He also highlighted the university’s national role in preparing academic staff for public universities.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana’a University, affirmed that the university continues to fulfill its mission as a national scientific institution open to all Yemenis from across the country. He reviewed a number of the university’s notable achievements in postgraduate studies and scientific research.
He explained that postgraduate programs have witnessed significant expansion, increasing from 15 master’s programs in 2015 to 240 master’s and doctoral programs today. He also noted that during 2025, the university succeeded in publishing more than 500 scientific papers in internationally indexed journals, in addition to approximately 366 scientific papers published in Sana’a University scientific journals, which have gained regional recognition.
During his speech, the University President praised the pioneering role of the former University President, Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas, while also commending the efforts of the university leadership, faculty members, administrators, and researchers. He congratulated the honored graduates on earning their doctoral degrees, describing their achievement as a valuable addition to the university’s academic journey.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Zaid Al-Warith, Assistant President of the University for Centers Affairs; Mr. Adel Al-Habbabi, Assistant President of the University for Media Affairs; Dr. Huda Al-Emad, Assistant Vice President for Postgraduate Studies; as well as a number of college deans, center directors, and general directors at the university.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Senan Al-Marhadi, Director of the Center of Business Administration, explained that the Center has achieved a clear leadership position in scientific publishing, with 155 published research papers, including 90 papers published during 2024–2025 in internationally indexed journals listed in Scopus and ISI, in addition to more than 65 papers published in Sana’a University journals.
He further explained that the 33 honored graduates had completed all academic and administrative requirements, out of 65 male and female researchers whose final dissertations were defended during 2024 and 2025. He noted that the number of researchers currently enrolled in the Center’s doctoral programs has reached 600, while 194 researchers are currently enrolled in the master’s program.
The ceremony also featured a speech on behalf of the graduates, delivered by Dr. Hamadi Al-Khudami, who expressed their gratitude to the university leadership and faculty members. He praised the continuous achievements of Sana’a University despite the challenges it faces, emphasizing that the advanced academic and research environment provided by the university had played a significant role in completing their academic journeys.
The ceremony concluded with the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research and the President of Sana’a University presenting PhD certificates to the honored researchers, in a scene reflecting the distinguished academic standing of Sana’a University and its pivotal role in developing and academically and scientifically qualifying Yemeni human capital.
