Dar Al-Salam University Translation Students Visit CCTLT at Sana’a University

SANA’A – Tuesday, August 26, 2025 (4 Rabi Awwal 1447 AH)
In an effort to enhance academic cooperation and the exchange of expertise between Yemeni universities, Sana’a University’s Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) hosted thirty students from the Department of English and Translation at Dar Al-Salam University of Science and Technology. The students were accompanied by several faculty members, including Dr. Hussein Sirar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Fadhel Al-Dhayani, Head of the Department; and Dr. Hilmi Abdu, a faculty member.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Ibrahim Tagaddeen, Director of the Center; Dr. Abdul Wadoud Al-Nazili, Head of the Translation Department; and Dr. Faisal Al-Dawli, Head of the Center’s Translation Unit.
During the visit, students gained hands-on experience in the translation process and benefited from the expertise of the center’s translators. They participated in practical workshops on general translation and applied modern translation techniques and methods. The students also learned about various types of translated documents, common challenges faced by translators, and how to address common errors.
The visit also included a tour of the Center’s facilities and an introduction to its programs, thereby allowing students to explore how the Center’s academic programs and professional services could support their skill development in translation and language education.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students expressed their gratitude to the center’s administration for their warm welcome and for facilitating the visit. They emphasized the crucial role CCTLT plays in advancing the translation movement in Yemen and its significant service to students and researchers.
